A little info.....
How your baby's growing: Your baby now looks like a miniature newborn, checking in at 10.9 inches and almost 1 pound. Her skin will continue to appear wrinkled until she gains enough weight to fill it out, and the fine hair (lanugo) that covers her head and body is now visible. Her lips are becoming more distinct, and the first signs of teeth are appearing as buds beneath her gum line. Her eyes are developed, though the iris (the colored part of the eye) still lacks pigment. Eyelids and eyebrows are in place, and her pancreas, essential for hormone production, is developing steadily.
Meet our little GIRL. That's right, we're having a girl...sugar, spice and everything nice!
Below is a profile of her little face (click on the image to see a larger view). We were able to see so much detail during the ultrasound. We saw her face, feet, toes, hands, leg bones, spine, heart and much more. We even saw her moving on the monitor.
Not only could we see her move, but I've started to feel her move as well. It's the coolest thing. Like little butterfly kisses in my tummy.
She is about 10.5 inches long and weighs about 3/4 of a pound. I can't believe she's that long.
Only 133 days left to go. We've purchased the furniture for the nursery and are anxious for her arrival. My health has been great and my energy level is almost back to normal. I'm starting to show a little bit and am much more comfortable in maternity clothes, although I can still squeeze into my regular clothes.
So I'm still feeling pretty good. No major complaints. I saw the doctor a few days ago and I'm right on track. I've gained about 8-9 pounds now, but still not wearing maternity clothes yet. The silly thing is that I'm actually looking forward to wearing them!
They say the baby is about 5 1/2" long (about the lenght of a sweet potatoe) and weighs almost 7 oz. Not bad.
I can't help but wonder if we are having a boy or girl. Hopefully if all goes as planned we will know in less than a week. Tuesday the 28th is the day! Cross your fingers that this baby isn't crossing it's legs. (=
I can't wait to meet the little one and see what he or she looks like. Who's features will be more dominant? Sal's or mine? My guess is his, but only time will tell.
I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and check back in next week.

Our next ultrasound is scheduled for November 28, 2006. Hopefully if our little one cooperates, we will know what the sex will be. BOY or GIRL? What's your guess? Let us know by posting a comment.
I have to say that I'm starting to get a little of my energy back. I had no idea the first few months would leave me so tired. I guess it's good practice for when the baby comes. Other than a little fatigue, I feel great. Never really had morning sickness. I'm definitely one of the lucky few! I've put on about 5 pounds now. All around the waist. I'm looking forward to feeling some movement in there. Nothing yet, but I know it won't be long.
