By this week, Rianna weighs a little over 2 pounds and measures about 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can open her eyes — which now sport lashes — and she'll turn her head toward a continuous, bright light from the outside. Her fat layers are beginning to form, too, as she gets ready for life outside of Mom.
As you can see from my photo, there's no way to hide the fact that I'm pregnant. I definitely have to wear maternity clothes now, but no complaints here. It's a lot of fun!!
Rianna always seems to be moving now. Especially when I lay down at night to go to bed. Sal has even been able to feel her. The crazy thing is that I can see my stomach twitch and move as she dances around inside.
We may have decided not to give birth at Stanford Hospital after all. Sal had to take me in to the labor and delivery department at 2:30am last weekend with what was probably the worst pain I've ever had in my life. They did the right thing by monitoring the baby first to make sure she was okay. After they confirmed that she was just fine, they sent me home with no regards to the pain I was in. The service was terrible! Now that I'm back to normal and feeling great, I realize that this may have been a blessing in disguise. At least we found out early that Stanford might not be the best fit for our needs. Now we are researching other local hospitals.
Be sure to check back in again soon.

I loved carrying you! Would stretch out on the bed after a shower and watch my tummy move with you. What would you look like? Would you have my red hair, your dad's curls? What would be your favorite activity, color, food...so many what's. It's so much fun knowing you're wondering the same things about Rianna! I think Rianna will be as beautiful as her mother, as gracious and caring. She'll have her father's sense of humor and his love of pranks I'm afraid (but that serves you right). And maybe, just maybe, she'll have a little, just a little of the weired from her grams. What I know for sure is that she already has a large family loving her and awaiting her birth! With love, grams.
